Football leaders take on the Referee Course

Over the past two weeks, our sports leaders programme with Litherlands High School and Sacred Heart Catholic Academy has been undertaking the referee course,

The first week was more practical, where they learned the basics of refereeing, from talking to captains before the game to positioning while on the pitch.

Last Friday saw the football leaders taking on the theory side of the course, where they completed the Laws of the game course. They than watched clips and answered questions around, Recognising foul challenges and seeing the difference in careless, reckless and excessive force challenges. They than finally learnt about the offside rule and how to deal with it in matches.

Thank you to Deputy Chief Constable Chris Green for coming along today to see the great work that’s going on at Marine in the community.
