Marine in the Community was invited to join other clubs from around the country to celebrate their achievements supporting community projects sponsored by the Northern Premier League and Pitching In at the Houses of Parliament.
Marine’s work supporting local secondary schools in promoting and encouraging girls football was one achievement recognised. This was along with its Literacy Kicks initiative encouraging young students in primary schools to become sports reporters. The work has had great success encouraging children to develop their English skills and potential as young reporters.
Finally our Four Clubs project with Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere supporting children away from crime though football and talks from Crimestoppers was equally praised on the evening.
Ministers attended the event and talks from MP, Charlotte Nichols and MP, Lee Barron praised the work being carried out from local community clubs.
Graeme Gardiner our Community Director and Colin Mitchell, MITC secretary attended the event in recognition of our work in the community. A very rewarding experience for all the hard work that Marine is doing with its schools, members, coaches, and community at large. Thanks for everyone’s support and hard work achieving such recognition.
