Our stars of the week are the participants of our Sports Leaders Programme from Litherland High and Sacred Heart. We were thrilled to welcome our sports leaders back for the last two Fridays. The students participated in a six-week programme at the end of last years school term where they completed a football coaching course and an FA referees course. It was wonderful to have them officiating at our National League primary school tournament and our Year 7/8 Marine FC girls’ football tournament.
We also heard some inspiring success stories from the programme, with our sports leaders actively coaching and refereeing on weekends, earning some income for themselves in the process. Both schools reported that the programme has positively impacted these students.
We would like to thank the sports leaders from Litherland High and Sacred Heart for their participation in this successful project, and we extend a big thanks to Merseyside Police for helping to fund this wonderful initiative.
